IN PERSON: Meet the StoryMaker, Eureka Springs Community Center, (AR), December 4, 10:00 am. – 2:00pm. An author festival, wheelchair accessible, offering gifts for the holidays, a raffle, and introductions to local writers. Sponsored by Dairy Hollow Writers Colony, StoryMaker supports scholarship opportunities for writers. Eureka Springs Community Center is located at 44 Kings Highway.

In Person: Developing Story Through Art, October 25, 6:00pm, at the Fayetteville Public Library (AR). A creative writing workshop centered on developing a story using prompts based on images from the exhibit displayed in the building, “Navigating Censorship at the End of an Era: 1840s Japanese Prints.” Registration required. Virtual Event via Zoom: Springdale Public Library, Arkansas, author discussion of If You Walk Long Enough August 2021. This novel is set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement, and Women’s Rights. It is fiction for adults that lived through the Vietnam War, millennials that never knew the conflict, the LGBTQ community, veterans, and fans of the historical narrative. The book talk honors National Novel Writing Month and offers a salute to Veterans Day, November 11. Registration requested.

VIRTUAL EVENT: Writing the Short Story for Fun and Publication workshop through the Fayetteville Public Library during August. Sign-up requested. Sessions will focus on Character, Plot, Conflict, and Setting as key elements when writing short. And, give tips on publication considerations.

Corvid-19 has interrupted public presentations and events. Please check back for information when groups are allowed to meet again. Watch for the debut novel, If You Walk Long Enough, out in 2021.
